More supernatural ideas

Some more concepts, varying in styles, trying to experiment and find which is more suitable for the theme of the series.....

some new work

here are some more silhouettes for the title sequence,

A CHANGE OF IDEA-
for the montage aspect of the title sequence it would be boring and ttoo much of the same thing if I were to have the silhouettes of players on the purple backgrounds. Besides having the logo embedded on the hearts I thought it would be a good idea to have something else that would represent the countries. So when it cuts back and forth between the guy emerging from the ground and the montage, I intend to have the background colours the same as the colours of the country its representing. But making it more subtle, rather than like a flag. Once I have produced this idea I will post it.

Title sequence concept work

Here are some quick colour scheme and concept work for my RBS 6 nations title sequence. I want it to be very dramatic and atmospheric because that seems to be the theme throughout the rugby title sequences I have researched. So keeping the link is important, yet taking a different approach to the design etc is essential.

My idea is to start with an establishing shot of Rugby posts and the field, and thunder and lightning in the background.
I like the colour schemes used as it makes it look intense and the silhouette, I think works great with the background. An alternative Idea is to have the rugby ball also as a silhouette on the field....
In the distance a faint sound of the crowd will be heard.
The next shot will be of the earth trembling....

A hand will then emerge as the sound of the crowd gets louder and more intense.

After looking at the RBS 6 nations 2010 title sequence,  I liked the idea of using aspects from each country such as the dragon for Wales, the Knight for England, Lion representing Scotland etc. So Ithought I could keep the link and incorporate this in my design. So I tested a quick idea for a dragons' hand, by simply painting over the original hand design. This may prove to be difficult because not all the countries have a character that could be recognised well to the viewer. So I may stick with the human hand.

The next stage will be the body emerging from the ground but I have not drawn this particular shot yet.

As the sequence goes on I intend to have a montage of shots of players in action, although I will have to adjust the background etc so it  makes the piece more visually interesting.

The ball will be white with the tournaments colours on it. this will be a complete contrast from the black silhouettes and will hopefully look effective.
As the montage continues, instead of having the countries logos on a badge, I will have a red glowing shape on the chest. the heart. As the camera zooms in, the heart will be beating, revealing the countries logos embedded on the heart, made up of the veins , arteries etc. I think this idea could be quite unique if it is produced well. it will tie in with the dramatic feel to the sequence and the passion of the game. Obviously this isn't a completed final piece and only a quick concept of what it could look like.

Some more of my designs for Supernatural

Here are some more of my designs for the series re'design project. After having feedback from my tutors and fellow students I was told to try various styles, to suit my theme, which is quite dark and sinister. So I looked at comic book artwork and used them as inspiration for some of my designs.

Here is a quick background concept I could use for the comic book style characters. In particular the angel character 'Castiel' who has a very 'cosmic' essence about him

some of my Some of my supernatural character designs.

Here are some of my supernatural character designs, I am pleased with a few of them but some of them are to 'cartoony' and would not suit the theme of the story and series. I have concentrated mostly on the characters Sam and Bobby in these designs, these are some of the main characters I will be re-designing. The other main characters will include Dean, Castiel and maybe Ellen and Joe.

My idea for the title sequence

My idea for the title sequence is to create the opening sequence for the RBS 6 Nations rugby tournament. I chose this because I am a big rugby fan and know alot about the sport, and also how it is presented on TV. There have been a few opening sequences which I liked, in particular the 2010 6 nations introduction was great, using various elements and aspects of each country, (such as the dragon for wales, Knight for England, Lion for Scotland etc) as a way to represent each country. Using this as inspiration I intend to show create a very dramatic and atmospheric piece, portraying the intensity and passion of the tournament, and the sport itself. I intend to use various ways of presenting the sequence, from silhouette imagery, to montage pieces to convey my interpretation. I iwll upload any of my ideas as soon as I put them together. Also I will post my Series 'Re-design' ideas tomorrow on my blog.

NEW BRIEF FOR MAJOR PROJECT!

Major project time!! This year is going so quick, but the new brief sounds good. It is split into two sections. the first to create a pitch  for a title sequence of my own choice. the other being the re-designing of a film/television series etc, re-developing it to my own style and aiming at any target audience I want..............

I haven't thought about the title sequence aspect yet but for the series/film re-design I will be creating my own interpretation of the series 'Supernatural'. Besides this being one of my favourite series on TV, the main reason I chose this is because there is a great away of things I can work from. There are many different characters, each with their specific backgrounds, monsters and other supernatural beings, and also a great array of locations and props I could re-create in my style. My first stage is to gather some research on the series, character backgrounds etc, and then begin my initial concepts for the pre-production folder. I am looking forward to start designing and I will post any ideas as soon as I create them...........

My Final Series Pitch

Fianlly complete and handed in!Woohoo! This was a difficult project to begin with,  I used mostly illustrator to create my designs and as I am still not too familar with thi software it proved to be quite tedious at times. Despite this I am fairly pleased with the overall outcome of my pitch. I layed it out firstly a NYC Times billboard, each with different headings etc and then it changed to The NYCTimes newspaper. I decided on using this as a way to pitch because I thought it would be link in well with the setiing of the story, which is obviously the city of New York..........
